We want to give a huge shout out to Chrissys Cravings. Yesterday evening the crew went to Chrissys for dinner and they unfortunately had to respond to a traffic accident before they could eat, resulting in their food getting soggy and cold. Without asking, Chrissy and her team remade the crew’s order so they had a decent dinner to eat. We thank you so much for taking care of us, it means more than you think !

🚑 Stop the Bleed Class – Thank You! 🩸

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to host a Stop the Bleed class and train community members on how to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding. Participants learned how to properly apply direct pressure, pack a wound, and use a tourniquet—skills that can truly save a life before first responders arrive.

We want to thank everyone who attended and took the time to learn these critical lifesaving skills. It was great to see so many people committed to being prepared to help in an emergency.

A big thank you as well to our instructors and volunteers who helped make the class a success!

📸 Check out some photos from the training below.

If you’re interested in attending a future Stop the Bleed class, keep an eye on our page for upcoming dates.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own.

Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad mourns the loss of George Genthner, a dedicated and long-time member who faithfully served our community for many years. George held the position of First Lieutenant for 15 years and also served as Assistant Captain for numerous years, always leading with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his dedication to emergency services and the community.

Although most current members here never served with him, many served with his son George M. Genthner, who was a provider for numerous years as a paramedic with our agency.

Rest easy, George. We’ll take it from here. 💙🚑
