I had a wonderful time at the Juneteenth event celebrated this past weekend in the Village of Hanover Park. Thank you to Hanover Park’s Sister Cities Committee and the Friends of Sister Cities Hanover Park for putting this event together. It is always a pleasure to celebrate America's second independence day alongside those who continue pushing for full equality and freedom.

We had another amazing Outdoors Day and Fishing Derby this past weekend with perfect weather and fish practically jumping out of the water!

Thank you to MWRD Commissioner Eira L. Corral Sepúlveda, as well as to our amazing partners: the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Cook County Health, Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability, the Brookfield Zoo Chicago, the Arlington Anglers Fishing Club, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, Minds With Motion, Good News in the Neighborhood, and the Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove!

Thank you as well to everyone who came out to enjoy the nice weather our amazing forest preserves. I'm incredibility grateful to be able to celebrate with such an amazing community!

Maine Township is open for property assessment appeals through July 21st. The Cook County Assessor has made it easy to do appeals online at www.cookcountyassessor.com. You can also contact our office or your Township Assessor's office to get help.
