IAFF Local 4092 would like to congratulate Russell Deering on his retirement after an incredible 25 years of service with the Schaumburg Fire Department.

As the department’s Logistics Coordinator, Russ played an important role in supporting the men and women of our department. While he may not have been a member of Local 4092, his impact on our membership was significant and lasting.

For 25 years, Russ was someone our members could count on. His dedication, knowledge, and commitment to supporting the department made a difference in the daily lives of everyone he worked alongside.

On behalf of the entire membership of Local 4092, thank you, Russ, for 25 years of service, dedication, and friendship. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done for our members and the Schaumburg Fire Department.

Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement, Russ!

Our brothers and sisters at Streamwood Professional Firefighters Local 3022 have always been there to help us when we need it. Now it’s our turn to return the favor!

One of their paramedics has a 12-year-old daughter currently at Lurie Children’s Hospital waiting for a liver transplant. 100% of the proceeds from these shirts will go directly to his family.

The new Ambulance 51 is currently on display at the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) conference in Kansas City and is scheduled to be delivered to Schaumburg next month. After delivery and final preparations, it will be placed into service and staffed daily by the dedicated professionals of Local 4092.

We appreciate the Village’s continued commitment to providing our members with the tools and resources necessary to deliver the highest level of service to the Schaumburg community.

As the Village of Schaumburg, Illinois Government continues to grow, so does the need for a strong and well-equipped fire department. We are excited to see both our Village and department continue to grow in the coming years.

Last week, the Schaumburg Fire Department Technical Rescue Team had the opportunity to train at the Woodfield Water Tower, thanks to the Village of Schaumburg Public Works.

The training provided an opportunity for team members to refresh critical skills, including lead climbing with lanyards, patient packaging, and building rope systems using urban rigging techniques. Members worked through a simulated patient rescue, focusing on safely moving the patient from the tower to the ground.

Thank you to the Village of Schaumburg Engineering & Public Works Department for providing access to the tower, and to the members of the Technical Rescue Team for their professionalism and dedication.
