Our Story
The Schenectady County Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team exists to protect and serve child victims of abuse and neglect. The primary purposes are to minimize the trauma experienced by child physical and sexual abuse victims, to induce cooperative communication between agencies, and to expedite joint investigations between Law Enforcement and Child Protective Services. The team meets regularly to review, monitor and track cases. The team provides consultations and programs to schools and community agencies regarding child physical and sexual abuse. All of this results in an increased number of convictions, services that promote healing being delivered to children and their non-offending family members, and greater support and confidence in the system by the community.
