And the 2nd significant mutual aid incident for today starting about 1:30pm. We responded with our 4WD Brush Truck and Engine 38. The brush truck was able access remote areas to provide fire suppression and crews from Engine 38 provided much needed personnel for fure suppression and mop up. Units have cleared the scene and wrapping up clean up and restoring our equipment to service right now. Great teamwork today!

Our membership had an amazing time participating in both the North Albany Limerick's Parade and the Albany St. Patrick's Day Parade. We would like to thank the North Albany Limerick's for once again sponsoring us to be in both parades and we look forward to attending next year's parade as well.

Around 11:30pm last night, the Westmere Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a bedroom fire on Brandon Terrace.

Upon arrival, there was smoke and flames visible from the bedroom windows. Crews initiated an interior attack and were able to contain the fire to the bedroom and surrounding areas.

We were assisted by the Guilderland Fire Department, Fort Hunter Fire Company, McKownville Fire Department (Cover company), Guilderland Emergency Medical Services, Guilderland Police Department, and the Town of Guilderland Fire Investigation team

We are grateful for our mutual aid departments not only showing up, but showing up strong. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this incident.

Help us, help you. Every second counts in the event of a fire and this takes an extra person away from many other tasks at the scene. The quicker we can hook up to a hydrant, the quicker we can assist you. Please help us by keeping fire hydrants near your house or business clear of snow. We thank you for your help.
