This past Saturday, firefighters from RFD2 as well as Fort Hunter Fire Company, conducted live fire evolutions run by Capital Technical Rescue and Safety Consultants.

Evolutions started off with Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) operations. Then came simulated basement fires and navigating hoselines in stairwells. Throughout the entire day, crews also practiced communications as well as working in teams.

Thank you to all who attended and made this day a success. Never stop training!

**STRUCTURE FIRE**

RFD #2 is responding to a 2nd alarm structure fire on Hamburg Street, in Carman’s Fire District.

Please stay clear of the area, as this is still a very active scene.

Today, RFD #2 along with Fort Hunter Fire Company took part in some great technical rescue training instructed by , specifically utilizing our rescue equipment.

Firefighters practiced using the various types of rescue equipment on Rescue 1242.

A huge thank you to for allowing us to use their yard as well as their vehicles.

Just another way RFD #2 ensures the best possible service to our community. Constant training.

Congratulations to our newest official member, Kyle Stark! He was officially voted in as a member at yesterday’s company meeting.

Kyle has worked very hard over the past few months to complete all the necessary requirements needed to complete RFD2’s probationary period.

All new members must complete this probationary period to prove they have what it takes, and Kyle did just that.

Kyle, your family at RFD2 congratulates you as well as welcomes you officially. Keep up the great work!

Take a look at RFD #2’s newest probationary firefighters!

Last night, Captain Gilmore lead the probie class in learning about the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) that firefighters wear at fires. They were taught the different parts of the SCBA, as well as how to properly wear one. After, the probie’s put on their turnout gear and did different activities to get used to the feeling of breathing and wearing an SCBA. The earlier new firefighters can become comfortable with this equipment, the better.

They all did a great job for their first time. Nice work!
