The Capital Region Land Bank is set to demolish 27 blighted and vacant buildings in Schenectady. Nine of the demolitions are anticipated to start shortly.

So important that we recognize and salute the volunteers of our community that are committed to supporting our residents who need help.

Bitter temperature, howling wind and no way to hide from the cold but the StreetSoldiers - Schenectady team never waivered. Serving the community without fail to the last one in line.

Thanks to the elders at Zion Lutheran Church in Schenectady that embrace and support the Soldiers efforts every week.

I was grateful for our friend Angelo Santabarbara for Assembly to have asked me to join the cadre of volunteers today. Thank-you Assemblyman and Director Mara…. I’ll be back again.

I encourage all to donate, volunteer and show compassion for those around you. We are stronger together.

A life lost. A family torn. No one should have to experience these moments. This is not how life is supposed to end. I’m deeply saddened by this young persons tragic ending. We need to embrace life , not take it. We must be better humans , must care about others. I didn’t know Samantha but I know loss and grief. Thank you Superintendent Soler and the rest of the Schenectady City School District for caring about our children, our community , our families. Rest in Peace Samantha Humphrey.

Feeling blessed that I got to volunteer side by side with members of the community and leaders throughout our county who are in service to others.

Thank you to the volunteers and organizers at Schenectady Shares , Schenectady Police Department Concerned for the Hungry, Inc. Union College and St Luke’s Food Pantry for bringing us together and for making this drive a success in an effort to help others who need it the most.

We made a difference today.
