We can't think of a better way to celebrate National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day than by announcing the recent accreditation of the Schenectady Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol! The Agency was officially recognized and awarded accredited status by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) on December 8, 2022.

SCSO strives to adhere to the most professional standards and policies recognized for policing. It took a team effort over the last three years to complete this process, which was important to the department. SCSO believes that pursuing and receiving accreditation through DCJS will enhance the services they provide to Schenectady County residents while serving as a source of pride for the Patrol Division.

Special thanks to Lt. Geraci, the Accreditation Program Manager, and Lou Pardi, Retired Assistant Chief of Police from the City of Schenectady Police Department, whose dedication, experience, and collaboration helped the department achieve accreditation.
