Governor Mike Braun has proclaimed this Public Safety Telecommunicator Week in the State of Indiana. This special week honors the dedicated 911 telecommunicators whose critical work helps protect first responders and provides lifesaving support to individuals in their time of need.

We celebrate each of you for your commitment, compassion, and service—work that too often goes unnoticed. Know that you are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated for all that you do!

❄️ FRIGID TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND ❄️

Dangerously cold temperatures are headed our way this weekend. These conditions can cause serious problems for homes, vehicles, and personal safety if you’re not prepared.

Please take a few minutes to protect yourself and your property:

🏠 Protect Your Home
• Allow faucets to drip to help prevent frozen pipes
• Open cabinet doors to let warm air reach plumbing
• Ensure your furnace and space heaters are working properly
• Check on elderly neighbors and anyone without reliable heat

đźš— Protect Your Vehicle
• Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready and your battery is strong
• Keep your gas tank at least half full
• Carry a cold-weather emergency kit (blankets, charger, gloves)
• Give your vehicle extra time to warm up and use caution on icy roads

👤 Personal Safety
• Dress in layers and limit time outdoors
• Watch for signs of hypothermia and frostbite
• If travel isn’t necessary, stay home

We urge everyone to take these temperatures seriously. A little preparation now can prevent major problems later.

Stay warm. Stay safe.
