We would like to announce the retirement of a highly esteemed member of our team, Joe Germay. Joe has been with our company for over 28 years.

Joe helped pioneer ABCS in its infancy, and was instrumental in the growth and development of ABCS as we know it today. Joe’s wealth of knowledge and unsurpassed dedication was an integral part of the shaping the framework of ABCS, and his work ethic and standards served as a reflection of the core values we strive to embody as a company.

John Fox joins ABCS as a new Field Service Engineer

After a 20 year career in Instrumentation & Controls at Abbott Laboratories, John has joined ABCS as the newest Field Service Engineer. While at Abbott, John was a supervisor responsible for ensuring the plant steam generation plus chilled water, distilled water and compressed air to over 35 buildings on the campus serving 8,000 employees. John has an Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology and is an ISA Level I Certified Control System Technician (CCST).

Jim Hall Joins Field Service Group

Jim Hall, an 8-year Air Force veteran, joins ABCS following a long career as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician. In addition to his EPRI certification for Instrumentation, Jim is also a Journeyman Electrician and Wireman.

ABCS Sponsors CEAC Golf Outing

ABCS again sponsored the Halfway House at the 75th Annual Golf Outing for the Chief Engineers Association of Chicago (CEAC). This year’s golf outing was held at Cog Hill golf course in Lemont, Illinois. The Friday, September 11th event hosted more than 400 golfers, many of which passed by ABCS’s refreshment table to say hello and enter into a raffle for a number of sports tickets.

Darryl Hunter Joins ABCS as new Scheduling Coordinator

Darryl joined ABCS following a distinguished 24-year career in the U.S. Navy. As an E7, Chief Petty Officer, Darryl supervised and managed the operation and maintenance of steam propulsion engines, turbo generators, boilers and associated systems.

In his new role as the Scheduling Coordinator, Darryl will work closely with the office to manage the service schedule, review requests for new service, handle customer inquiries and provide customer support to field issues.

Keep your family safe with a working smoke alarm in every bedroom.

Almost half of all people killed by fire in their own homes resulted from fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., a time when most people are asleep. Smoke alarms save lives. Smoke spreads fast - you need smoke alarms to give you time to get out of the house. In fact, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) having a working smoke alarm cuts the chances of dying in a reported fire in half!

The ABCS booth was at the Industrial Roundtable at Purdue University West Lafayette on Wednesday, September 16th and at the Engineering Career Fair on Thursday, September 17th. Had a chance to discuss future job opportunities with number of engineering students interested in a career with ABCS.
