🚨 STORM CLEANUP ASSISTANCE

The Town of Dyer is pleased to welcome GoServ Global to assist residents with cleanup following the August 11 storm.

GoServ Global volunteers will assist with storm-related debris removal, downed trees and branches, and other hands-on cleanup, with priority given to residents who may not have the physical ability or resources to complete the work themselves.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: If you already have limbs or branches placed at the parkway for pickup, you do not need to register for this assistance. Town crews and contractors are actively working throughout Dyer to collect existing parkway limb piles.

Nothing Short of Amazing!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED IN SCHERERVILLE

Yesterday, we deployed to the St. John Township Trustee Office & Community Center in Schererville to serve veterans and their families affected by the recent severe storm last week.

We started shortly after 2 PM and kept going till after 9 PM. By the end of the day:

✅️ 50 veterans were assisted.
✅️ $35,000 in direct veterans assistance provided through the DAV Natural Disaster Relief Program.

Thank you to Trustee Cathy J Lareau for opening the doors for us, to Operation BBQ Relief for donating 100 sandwiches to veterans and their families who had spent days cleaning out flooded homes, and the DAV officers and volunteers from across northwest Indiana who showed up and got to work. This is what our organization was built to do.

I was grateful to partner with State DAV to provide the Community Center as a distribution location for veterans receiving disaster relief funds.
* DAV met with veterans yesterday for eight hours to provide assistance and support.
* A heartfelt thank-you to Operation BBQ Relief for generously providing 100 sandwiches for the veterans who attended.
It was an honor to support our veterans and help ensure they received the assistance they needed during this challenging time.
