Do you want change? An honest, transparent administration? A Mayor and Trustees who will keep the residents safe? Stop the unnecessary spending that’s been going on the last four years? Wasting taxpayers' dollars on overpaid attorney fees? Putting money in the pockets of their buddies regardless if they do a good job or not? Stop overpaying for Village Managers and Interim department heads when we have people internally more than qualified to do the job? Someone who doesn’t use taxpayer money to promote himself through a village letter? Do you want your pockets to stop get it picked?

Just some of the FACTS about how poorly our public safety is being treated. We ask that, if you think this is “ mud slinging” ask the unions, ask the employees, ask the Mayor if this is true. The Fire Department was never a union and under this Mayor they unionized. Has anyone asked why that is?!? We will bet the Mayor or Schiller Park First will not answer your questions because they do not want the true to come out.

So there is some misinformation going around and giving off the wrong impression by the Schiller Park First endorsement post. We want to clarify that the Schiller Park Local 150 Public Works union did NOT endorse Mayor Caiafa or the Schiller Park First. The Schiller Park Local 150 made it very clear they were staying apolitical throughout this process. We respect and support the public works position on this matter. The Local 150 at large endorsed the Schiller Park First.

Again, this is the Union as a whole endorsement, not the Schiller Park Local 150. They do represent our Public works, but the endorsement didn’t come from our members. So putting on their endorsement notice “ Local 150 represents all Schiller Park Public Works” is very misleading. This is par for the course for this party because of all the other misleading information they’ve put out during their campaign.

Dear Schiller Park Residents,

In response to the mayor’s flyer concerning some of my previous voting record…

First, a sitting mayor should never have to resort to negative attacks – His record should speak for itself.
I have voted “NO” on non-essential spending during a time when the mayor has constantly mentioned that our Village’s financial situation is not good. We also should have been watching our spending during the pandemic, not going on a spending spree!
I am not against improvements to our Village. What I am against is voting for spending the Village’s money while at the same time telling our Public Safety employees that they may have to lose their jobs because the Village is in poor financial status. I am also against approving no-bid contracts – contracts that do not follow the proper procedure.
But it doesn’t really matter to the current mayor how the board votes. For example, when the board voted unanimously on a 3% property tax increase, the mayor went ahead and doubled it to a 6% increase without consulting the board. Highly unethical in so many ways!
The current mayor has treated the position that we entrusted him to respect as if he were running his own personal business. Hiring whoever he wants, firing whoever he wants, and he has created a mess of our Village finances.
Also, on his mailer, he has the incorrect definition of a “PRESENT” Vote. A present vote means that the vote will be added to the majority vote. It does not mean that you refused to take a stand – that would be when you “ABSTAIN” from voting.
I refuse to be a “yes” trustee just for the sake of going along. I stand firm on my voting record knowing that I have looked out for the best interest of the taxpayers and the Village as a whole.
