Students Fight Back is a program designed to give you the tools you need to be safe and for all of us to be better allies to one another. This program will empower all of us to create a safer campus and communities for all people.
This high energy, interactive program includes the topics of consent, bystander intervention, awareness, personal safety, intuition and the basics of self-defense. Students Fight Back was born in direct response to the June 2001 murder of a dynamic, athletic, and loved college student named Shannon McNamara. After Shannon’s death, her friend and sorority sister, Erin W**d, realized the need for practical and empowering options for young women to learn violence prevention and self-defense. Inspired by the way Shannon fought her attacker, Erin immersed herself in training with the best violence prevention experts and self-defense trainers in the world and, from this, developed this seminar. This seminar is designed for all students!!
Students Fight Back will be at LCCC on Thursday, October 13th at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Center, Room AC 107/108. It is FREE and pizza will be provided after the program.
