The Schulenburg Police Department would like to remind our community of a few important safety tips for this weekend.

๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Please watch for pedestrians, as our streets will be filled with people from all over seeking good deals.

๐Ÿš™ Please do not obstruct any roadways with your vehicles. Obey all traffic laws and signals.

๐Ÿ›‘ Do not overtake other vehicles stopped for pedestrians. Please be patient and give yourself adequate time to get to where you need to be.

***BURGLARY OF HABITATION***

On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 6:03 pm, Officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Summit St. for reports of an evicted subject being on the property.

Officers met with the caller who stated a female subject who had been evicted from the residence entered through a window and was found inside.

The story was confirmed and Ida Barrios (55), of Schulenburg, was arrested for Burglary of Habitation then transported to the Fayette County Jail for booking.

***WARRANT ARREST***

On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 5:52 pm, Officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Herder Ave. after being contacted by Austin Police Department in reference to a subject with a felony arrest warrant living in our city.

Officers spoke with a resident who got the subject of the warrant to come out of the house. Garland Hargis (53), of Schulenburg, was arrested on a warrant charging him with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, then transported to the Fayette County Jail for booking.

Please watch out for the 250+ riders in town participating in the Moving Forward Ride Productions Alzheimer's fundraiser ride called The Legacy 100.

Please be cautious while driving. Watch for cyclists, slow down, and give them plenty of space as they ride through our community.

March 12 - David Luderus (28), of San Antonio, arrested on multiple Bexar County felony warrants.
March 22 - Brandy Houston (33), of Houston, arrested for Public Intoxication.
March 22 - Lily Rogers (19), of Houston, arrested on an a Hays County misdemeanor warrant.
March 29 - James Herring (41), of Schulenburg, arrested for Assault Family/Household Member w/Prev Conviction.
March 29 - Jesus Turrubiatez (32), of Schulenburg, arrested on a Fayette County Warrant for Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm.

April 9 - Miranda Caazos (29), of Schulenburg, arrested for Assault.
April 22 - Noel Martinez (30), of Alice, arrested for Terroristic Threat Cause Fear of Imminent SBI.

***STOLEN VEHICE RECOVERED***

On Monday, May 25, at approximately 5:35 am, Officers received notification from an Automatic License Plate Reader (LPR) about a stolen vehicle headed eastbound on IH-10.

At approximately 6:06 am, Officers observed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued into Colorado County where Colorado County Sheriffโ€™s Office deputies successfully deployed a tire deflation device.

The vehicle attempted to go up the shoulder but became stuck. The driver, a female juvenile, was taken into custody and ultimately transported to a Juvenile Detention Facility.
