In Episode 1, we sit down with Nebraska Extension Educator Aaron Nygren. Based in Mead, Nebraska, Aaron provides local agronomic support for Saunders, Douglas, and Sarpy Counties. Raised on a family farm near Ashland, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agronomy from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Fall Armyworm Moth Numbers Increasing, Signaling Time to Scout Alfalfa and Pastures

Fall armyworm occurs in Nebraska every year, migrating from overwintering sites in south Texas and south Florida (Figure 1). These migratory moths usually start appearing in Nebraska around midsummer and can persist through mid-fall (October).
