A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of the area through 1 AM. The primary hazard is locally damaging wind gusts.

A cluster of strong thunderstorms will move across the region this evening. The strongest storms will be capable of producing pockets of damaging wind, with the greater potential for damaging winds in the darker red shaded region. Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2.5 inches per hour will be expected with the strongest storms as well. White dashed lines show the approximate time of arrival.

SUMMER INTERMISSION IS HERE

After 2 weeks of 90s/100s, we will experience a 3-Day “Summer Intermission” thru Friday with fall-like 70s and rain expected. Blended model forecasted rainfall amounts in the image below through Saturday.

But after Friday, the heatwave returns 90s/100s forecasted again for another week or two.

🚔 Project Lifesaver Training in Schuyler🚔

The Schuyler Police Department will be conducting Project Lifesaver training in various locations throughout town tonight. During this training, you may see officers and Schuyler Fire using specialized tracking equipment as they practice search and rescue techniques.

**What is Project Lifesaver?**
Project Lifesaver is a rapid-response program designed to help locate individuals who are prone to wandering due to conditions such as:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Down syndrome
• Dementia/Alzheimer's disease
• Other cognitive disorders

If you have a loved one—whether a child or an adult—who has been diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, dementia, or another condition that may put them at risk of wandering, we encourage you to contact the Schuyler Police Department to learn more about the Project Lifesaver program and how it may help protect your family.

This program provides peace of mind and gives first responders the tools they need to locate missing individuals quickly and safely.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Sunday afternoon across portions of northeast Nebraska. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
