Medical Transport Service started in September of 1979 by local Dan Marsh to serve Allegany County Residents and their Medical Transportation Needs. Medical Transport Service, Inc aka "MTS" or "Medic 700" operates 4 ambulances, 2 wheelchair vans and two Critical Care/Paramedic Level Flycars. We supply the majority of Advanced Life Support inter-facility transports originating from Jones Memorial

Hospital and surrounding facilities. Although the office itself is only open 8 to 4 weekdays MTS provides 24 hour 7 days a week coverage to all of Allegany County. Our "flycar" provides the highest level of pre-hospital treatments to the local ambulance agencies and to those people who just need a little transportation assistance and cannot use conventional means our wheelchair van service takes the hassle out of getting to and from medical appointments and whenever equipment and personnel permits we will make every effort to make accommodations to get you to other personal events as well.

Today, employees of Medical Transport Service along with members of Belfast EMS and LifeNet 7-7 traveled to the Monroe County Public Safety Facility to be recognized by the Kessler Trauma Center with this year’s "Trauma Lifesaver Award". The Kessler Trauma Center is located at UR Strong. Our recognition was 1 of 7 total cases recognized for this year. The teamwork, dedication, and knowledge of all providers that night provided the best patient outcome possible. We would like to thank all our partners for their dedication and teamwork not only on this day but every single day here in Allegany County. Providers in attendance at today’s recognition event were surprised with a video message from the patient, thanking us for saving his life!!!!

During November, Medical Transport Service was dispatched to 525 calls for service resulting in 383 patient transports and 142 cancellation or agency assists. We transported patients to 22 different Hospitals. Inter-facility Transfers constituted 42.8% of the calls followed by “Sick Person” at 14.1% and “Breathing Problems” at 8.6% to round out the top 3 patient categories. Of the 383 patients transported 269 of these calls where Emergency and 114 Non-Emergency.
