SCITUATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

Wind and Minor Coastal Flooding Expected May 30th - 31st
Good afternoon:
A cold front will stall across the southern coastal waters today through Saturday night as a series of weak low-pressure systems track east along the boundary. These conditions are expected to bring increasing winds and rough seas to the coastline beginning early Saturday and continuing into early Sunday morning.

Northeast winds on Saturday are forecast to gust up to 55 mph, producing hazardous marine and coastal conditions. These impacts may also result in minor coastal flooding during the midday high tide cycle on Saturday.

Areas prone to flooding, including Cole Parkway, Front Street, Edward Foster Road,
Cedar Point, and Central Ave in Humarock, may be particularly vulnerable.
Residents and businesses should take precautions and prepare for the impending tides.

• Avoid driving through flooded areas to prevent vehicle damage and risks to neighboring properties.
• Refrain from parking in Cole Parkway and the Town Pier around high tide.
• Respect the sawhorses placed for safety purposes and avoid driving around them.
• Downed wires: Do not attempt to move or touch downed wires. Always assume that they are live. Contact National Grid/Eversource and Scituate Emergency Dispatch in any cases of wires down.
In case of emergencies, dial 911 or 781-545-1212 for non-emergencies.
