The Township’s Revolution 250 celebration is 3 weeks away!

The Osborn Cannonball House located at 1840 Front Street, got its name after a cannonball accidently hit the house during the American Army retreat from the 1777 Battle of Short Hills. The Historical Society of Scotch Plains and Fanwood New Jersey helps to preserve the Cannonball House and will be sponsoring activities on June 26 such as a stonecutter, weaving, and spinning yarn on the Alan M. Augustine Village Green.

The Township’s Revolution 250 celebration is less than one month away! The Aunt Betty Frazee House, located at 1451 Raritan Road, is one of our local historic treasures.

According to legend, after the Battle of Short Hills fought nearby, Betty Frazee turned away British General Cornwallis who sought to plunder the fresh-baked bread she was famous for baking. Be sure to learn more about the Frazee House and our other local historic sites on the Alan M. Augustine Village Green on June 26.
