5th Grade Field Day Recap
5th Grade had an exciting field day last Wednesday. 🎓 As the school year wraps up, the students showcased their spirit on a hot day, with many enthusiastic participants on Team Blue and Team White! 🌟 Teammates cheered each other on through a variety of fun challenges. 🎉

A big thank you to the Terrill PTA for providing refreshing water and ice pops to keep everyone cool! 🥤🍧 And a shoutout to our P.E. teachers for organizing all the activities! 🙌🎈

1st Annual Terrill/Nettingham Kickball Championship
🎉🏆 Class of 2030 — CHAMPS! 🥳⚽️ Well played, Terrill — add this one to the books!

Nettingham jumped out early with a 4–0 lead, but Terrill battled back in the 2nd and 3rd to tie it 4–4. Terrill then moved ahead 7–4 in the bottom of the 5th. Nettingham answered with a huge top of the 7th to lead 13–7, but Terrill came through late — Will S., Gabe C., and Ewan H. crushed homers to help Terrill surge ahead 18–13 and seal the win. 🔥💪

Shoutout to Mustafa M. in the outfield and Ava G. at 1st for clutch defense and to Mr. Luccarelli for closing the top of the 9th with the final out. 🙌👏

Huge thanks to Nettingham’s teachers and students for coming out — we’ll do this again, Dr. Dumaresq. For now, Dr. Holloway, is reveling in the victory. 🎊

Does your student notice Shrinkflation? 🍽️➡️📉 We used favorite cereal boxes to explore real-world math: finding volume, surface area, and converting cubic units to ounces. 🧮🥣 Big creativity + practical shopping comparison skills = math that matters. James Leitner is back at Terrill! 🌟
Mr. Leitner visited our 6th graders to talk about his nonprofit, MissionCleanWater. 💧

6th Grade Social Studies is studying Global Issues like water scarcity — a perfect fit! In 2010 he learned that 1 billion people lack access to clean water and committed his career to helping. Since 2018, MissionCleanWater has provided clean water to 75,000 people in Uganda, improving health, sanitation, and hygiene with a proven 100% operational success rate. ✅

Clean water isn’t just a health solution — it’s the foundation for education, safety, and opportunity, especially for women and girls. We’re so proud to have SPF alumni sharing their passion with our students. 🙌

* Thursday: Dress like Dr. Holloway or Dr. Esposito 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

🎓 2025-2026 L.E.A.D. Graduation
Huge congratulations to our 5th Grade Students for completing their L.E.A.D. training! Special thanks to Sgt. Rites and Sgt. Gitto 👮‍♂️👮‍♂️ for teaching our students how to handle peer pressure and understand the risks of illegal drugs. 🌟

🎶 The excitement was electric as our 5th graders awaited the opening procession of Stars War performed by the Terrill 6 Band.

A big shout out to Caroline R. who assisted me in cutting and editing this reel to get the freshest content out to our followers.

The ceremony continued with L.E.A.D. awards for the best essay and poster from each class. 🎉 A special shoutout to Evan O., the grand winner, who received a pair of AirPods 4! A big thank you to our local Scotch Plains business for their generous support. While not everyone received an Apple product, every graduate took home a commemorative L.E.A.D. T-shirt. We wrapped up the event with a slideshow video showcasing their amazing L.E.A.D. activities.

Heat and Rain held for the annual Boys v. Girls game
Last Thursday at Shimme Wexler Field, SPF Girls 7-Team and 8-Team defeated their respective Boys teams in the annual Boys v. Girls SPF Lax Night. I just happened by chance that the 8-Girls team won with a score 7-6. It was so nice to see so many families and students in attendance. The night was even more special with a guest visitor, Mr. Yap (Library Media Center) came out to support both teams. Please come out and cheer your youth sports programs.
