When the 841st Transportation Battalion and 407th AFSB team up, things move — literally.
From deployment ops to massive exercise support, this is what a logistics "in motion" looks like.

The afternoon of Day 2 at the included three deployment-focused Breakout Sessions, all moderated by Jimmy Wiley, ARTRANS G3 Terminal Operations Division Chief.

The first session, titled “Setting the Conditions for a Successful Deployment,” drew on the experience of panelists LTC Stephen Coley and LTC Chris Fields, both from ARTRANS’ 597th Transportation Brigade.

During the second session, Wiley invited BNSF’s Ben Jensen (also a former Surface Warrior!) and Dave Walker, ARTRANS Freight Management Branch Chief, to discuss how the synchronization of truck and rail movements at the port can impact deployment operations.

The last breakout focused on Army Force Projection. Subject matter experts from the ARTRANS G3 Operations directorate, including John Rummer, Scott Savoie, and Sean Manning joined Wiley to provide a variety of perspectives about how the Army must adapt to meet future strategic deployment goals.

841st Transportation Battalion in Action at TRANSMARINER‑26

Proud to share a look at the 841st Transportation Battalion supporting TRANSMARINER‑26 in Puerto Rico. Our team oversaw port operations as cargo was loaded onto the MV Roy P. Benavidez for USTRANSCOM’s Turbo Distribution exercise — a real demonstration of how our people enable rapid deployment and power projection when it counts.

This mission shows exactly what drives ARTRANS every day: skilled professionals, real‑world readiness, and a force that keeps transforming to meet the demands of large‑scale combat operations.

continued to take an active role during the afternoon session of the Surface Force Projection Meeting’s first day! Jimmy Wiley, ARTRANS G3 Terminal Operations Division Chief, made his first SFPM appearance providing insight during a panel session on the DOT’s Transportation Priorities and Allocation System and port selection process. Later, ARTRANS Deputy Commanding General Kristina O’Brien served as a panelist on the Freight Management in the Contested Environment breakout panel, where the discussion covered how the freight ecosystem supporting the Defense Transportation System increasingly represents contested operational terrain.
