Today we celebrate the incredible people who make our service what it is. đźš‘

On Employee Appreciation Day, we want to recognize the dedication, skill, and heart our team brings every single day. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting patients, maintaining equipment, or keeping operations running smoothly—each member of our service plays a vital role in caring for our community.

We also want to extend a sincere thank you to the other agencies and partners we work alongside—law enforcement, fire departments, dispatchers, county road department, hospital staff, and all of our community partners. The work we do would not be possible without your teamwork, communication, and shared commitment to the people we serve.

Thank you for the long hours, the missed holidays, the teamwork, the compassion, and the professionalism you show on every call. Our community is safer and stronger because of all of you. ❤️

EXTREME FIRE DANGER TUESDAY! Winds Gusting to 60+ MPH and Low Dew Points will make for Critical Fire Danger Across Much of the State, but Especially Western KS. Blowing Dust Will Also Be a Concern!

02/16/2026

A dangerous high wind event is likely to unfold on Tuesday as a powerful jet stream core moves out across our southwest Kansas region. Blowing dust is also likely, particularly in vicinity of open fields. Dangerous fire weather conditions will also unfold beginning late morning/midday as relative humidity falls into the teens. Keep checking back for updates concerning this fairly high end wind and fire weather event.

02/16/2026

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for high fire danger on Tuesday from noon to 8pm. Take steps to prevent creating a new fire start, and check any recent burns to ensure they are fully extinguished.

Congrats Zach Golemboski
