PSA:
Please keep your grass trimmings out of the roadways as it can cause problems for motorists. Grass in the roadway is dangerous because it drastically reduces tire traction, acting similar to black ice. This is particularly hazardous for motorcyclists and bicyclists.

Scott City Code 255.030 penalizes anyone who discharges, sweeps, or blows any litter (to include weeds and grass clippings) into roadways.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe!

Public Service Announcement:
When there is inclement weather (storms, heavy rain, etc.) Public Works may put out "Road Closed" signs to ensure drivers' safety and to prevent property damage and other catastrophes from occurring. When these signs are out, effectively closing off a roadway, it is to prevent injury to drivers and to prevent property damage due to motor vehicle accidents.

Just as a reminder Scott City Municipal Code Section 315.030: Obedience to Traffic Control Devices, prevents drivers from ignoring and going around road signs. If you do this, you can and will be cited. Our main concern is to keep motorists safe, and keeping these roads closed, during inclement weather, is paramount.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keeping our community safe!
