Members of the Scott City Fire Department staffed Rescue Squad 2861 this weekend and attended an extrication training provided by NABC and Genesis Rescue Systems. This class provided our members with knowledge and techniques to handle extrications on newer vehicles with high strength metals and electric vehicles. We would like to thank Banner Fire for the invite and to CarStar for providing the facility for this training. A big thank you to the NABC and Allstate for providing the vehicles and to Genesis Rescue Systems for the instructors. This training was provided at no cost to the Department and was a great educational experience to all our members that attended to teach all of our other members in future trainings. The topics included an air bag demonstration, size up, door and glass removal, and dash rolls. We are always striving to better ourselves and our skills to better serve our community. As always thank you to our community for their continued support.
