š„© Help Fuel Our Scott City Kids! š
We live in the heart of beef country, so what better way to support our local students than by putting homegrown beef on their lunch trays?
The Scott County Beef Fuels Your Day program helps USD 466 serve quality, farm-to-plate ground beef that our kids love ā while saving the school district an estimated $15,000ā$18,000 a year! Those savings help keep salad bars available and give Food Services more flexibility as food costs continue to rise.
š Want to be part of it? Local producers can donate a beef, and individuals, businesses, or organizations can make monetary donations to help cover processing costs. Scott County Farm Bureau helps coordinate the process, making it easy for donors to participate.
According to USD 466 Food Services Director Jade Yeager, the impact has been tremendous ā and with one beef needed each month of the school year, continued community support makes all the difference.
š Local beef. Local kids. Local people making it happen.
