During National Police Week, Scottdale Borough proudly recognizes and thanks the dedicated men of the Scottdale Police Department for their unwavering service, professionalism, and commitment to our community.

Every day, our officers work tirelessly to protect our residents, support local families and businesses, respond in times of crisis, and help keep Scottdale safe. Their dedication often extends far beyond the badge, through acts of compassion, leadership, and service that strengthen our community each and every day.

We are grateful for the sacrifices they and their families make in service to others. Thank you, Scottdale Police Department, for your courage, integrity, and continued commitment to the Borough of Scottdale. Your service does not go unnoticed, and your community stands behind you with appreciation and respect.

‼️Notice from the Tax Collector’s Office ‼️
A tax payment is considered paid based on the official USPS postmark date. Due to recent USPS procedure changes, mail placed in a mailbox may not receive a same-day postmark.

If you want your property or per capita tax payment to qualify for the April 30, 2026 discount deadline, you must take your payment inside the post office and have it hand-stamped by a postal clerk on or before April 30, 2026.

Do not place your payment in a mailbox on April 30, as it may be postmarked later and miss the discount deadline.

The new tax collector office is open this week, Monday-Thursday 10-4 (her office is located inside Defurio Mongell Insurance on Pittsburgh St.). In addition, there is a drop box located outside for evening drop offs.

What a beautiful day to plant trees. Thank you to Scottdale Shade Tree Commission and Jacob’s Creek Watershed for holding the tree planting today.
The weather was perfect. Thank you to the Southmoreland Varsity Football players who came and helped us out.

There is still mulch left over. It’s free, come and get it. It’s in the parking area by the pavilion.

Have a wonderful weekend!
