On May 16th, Scottdale Police took an individual into custody who had an active arrest warrant from our department stemming from an incident the night before. The individual was then transported to Westmoreland County Prison without incident.

Scottdale Police would like to thank the multiple agencies that assisted in safely taking this individual into custody.

We've seen an increase in complaints and incidents involving E-Bikes and other micromobility devices in our community. For everyone's safety, please take a moment to review Pennsylvania's micromobility laws and know where these vehicles can legally be operated.

Our goal is education and safety to prevent crashes and injuries. If you're using an E-Bike, scooter, or similar device, ride smart and respect others on the road and sidewalks.

As a reminder, sidewalks are to be kept clear and accessible to allow safe passage for pedestrians.

Please refrain from parking vehicles on the sidewalks and blocking the path. It creates a safety issue for people that are walking and using mobility assistance.

We always appreciate the chance to connect with our community, but we're hoping the next conversation is about something a little more exciting than sidewalk parking!
