Duck Rescue 🦆

It's not always about the big emergencies! Yesterday, our crews received a special call for a different kind of rescue - a family of tiny ducklings found themselves in a bit of trouble after falling into a storm drain.

SVFD personnel were quickly on the scene. After a careful operation, we successfully pulled the little ones to safety and happily reunited them with their mother at a nearby pond.

We're proud to serve and protect all members of the Scotts Valley Fire District community, big and small, feathered or otherwise!

We train for a lot of things… spontaneous midnight showers wasn’t exactly on the schedule.

Crews responded to a sheared hydrant right across from the station after a parking mishap. No injuries—but a few firefighters are now officially extra clean after wrestling the valve shut.

Reminder: Hydrants are for firefighting, not car bumpers 😉

Thank you Scotts Valley Police Department and Scotts Valley Water District for your assistance at the scene.

Meet E-2512 — built for everything Scotts Valley can throw at it.

30 years of partnership with mfg and state fire went into this engine. From our first all-wheel steer apparatus in 1996, we've been refining, improving, and raising the bar — and E-2512 is the result.

Here's what she's packing:
⚙️ 450 HP Cummins engine
💧 1,250 GPM pump
🚒 All-wheel steering + narrow wheelbase — goes where others can't
🛠️ Full ALS, heavy extrication, rope rescue, wildland + structure hose, saws, and more

We didn't just build a fire engine. We built the best one we could for the people of this district.

You may have caught us at the — and we made the final four! 🏆

🗳️ VOTE TOMORROW, April 6 at firetruckfaceoff.com — if we win, we're donating $1,500 to the San Jose Firefighter Burn Foundation. Let's make it count.
