Last book giveaway! I had been collecting the Harry Potter series with the intention of putting them out in the library all at once. I’m still missing book three of this mismatched paperback set. Would anyone want to take these?

We have some news . . . we regret to announce that the Fair Weather Little Free Library will be closing at the end of the month. New employment opportunities are drawing us out of town, and we will be taking the library box with us to start a new book community in our new home.

Sharing the love of books has been such a joy, and we really appreciate all of you, the community of readers who has grown this library into what it is. Thank you so much for all your contributions since March 2020, when this library started as a humble cart.

Please feel free to take as many books as you can read through December 31. We will try to keep the box filled.

No need to return or share any more books. If you do have books you wish to share, consider checking out other little libraries in the area:

By the sidewalk on the west side of Avenue I, on the east side of Westmoor Pool

And if anyone is interested in starting their own library and is able to move very heavy things, we would be happy to give you the post from this library.

I totally forgot to post here yesterday - this is Day 2 of a community book giveaway. Thanks to the generosity of all the people who bring books to share, my storage area is bursting at the seams, so most of the library backstock is out in the yard this afternoon.

Also, there are Christmas books in the library today. 🤶🧑‍🎄🎅

If your younger kiddos like Halloween reading but missed coming to the library last night, there's one more chance to come get a Halloween book. While the weather is nice, we have the leftover books in the "barrel" below the library. We have about 60 left. (Gave out 63 last night.)

Here's what's out in the library today. Some good reads!

Thanks to whomever dropped off "A Short History of Tractors in Ukraine". I read it and appreciated it.

"A Journal of the Plague Year" is out there. Published in 1722, it's a historical fiction account of the plague of London in 1665. It's a slog to read, but interesting because of the parallels between human responses to pandemics across centuries.

"Little Fires Everywhere" is another good read out there. (Thanks to whomever dropped that off!)

I loved reading "The Authenticity Project." It made me laugh and left me with a warm feeling about the kindness people are capable of.

Cool! I won a copy of "Native Son" for the library from a HarperCollins HarperPerennial giveaway through the Little Free Library organization! I read this book in college and still have a copy on my personal bookshelf.

I had to cut back a sage plant today. Many of the leaves are in perfect condition for cooking, so I put out a basket of them by the library. Feel free to come by and help yourself - today only (Sunday 10/2).
