A few of our students got the opportunity to put their own touch on the Memorial Stadium Mural on the outside of the Union! We are so proud of these students and love seeing them take part in projects that bring our community to life.

A huge thank you to Nathan Maldonado and Michael Marquez for allowing our students to be a part of this awesome project!

We had an AWESOME lineup of guest speakers at ReConnect today! 🙌

Our first speaker was Lesley Garrison, a former ReConnect alumna who is now a CNA at Monument Health. Lesley shared her personal experience at ReConnect, the obstacles she has overcome, and the goals she has for her future. It was incredibly powerful for our students to hear directly from someone who once sat in the same seats they do today!

Our second speaker was Mr. Edgar Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez immigrated to the United States when he was just 3 years old and has worked hard to build an incredible future for himself. He currently co-owns Rodriguez Brothers Processing and also owns his own vending machine company!

Edgar challenged our students to get comfortable being uncomfortable, set BIG goals, and work hard to accomplish the goals they set for themselves. And, as if his message wasn’t enough, he also brought pizza for the entire school! 🍕🙌

A GIANT thank you to Lesley and Edgar for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit ReConnect and share their stories, experiences, and inspiration with our students.

You never know how one conversation, one story, or one person can change a student’s perspective. We’re grateful for community members who are willing to invest in our kids! ❤️

A GIANT thank you to the Star Herald for covering these students hardwork inside and outside of the classroom!

ReConnect students have left their artwork across the Scottsbluff and Gering communities. Now, three new crosswalk murals are taking shape in Terrytown.

A giant THANK YOU to Jake Donohoe of Monument Ridge Painting for stopping by and visiting with our students about the ins and outs of the painting industry! 🎨

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge, experiences, and insight into the trade. Opportunities like this give our students a chance to learn about real-world careers and what it takes to be successful in the industry.

🌟 WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU, JARED! 🌟

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to one of our own, Jared Iron Horse, who was nominated for the 2026 ServeNebraska Step Forward Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to volunteerism and serving others! 👏🔥

Jared has consistently gone above and beyond to give back to his community, put others first, and make a difference through his volunteer work. His dedication is exactly what it means to Step Forward and lead by example. 💪❤️

While Jared wasn’t selected as the award recipient, being nominated among outstanding young volunteers from across Nebraska is an incredible accomplishment—and one that we couldn’t be more proud of!

As part of this recognition, Jared received a Youth Volunteer Leadership Nominee Certificate from Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, recognizing his leadership, innovation, and hard work in service to others. 🏆👏

Jared, your impact matters. Your hard work matters. And the example you’re setting for others matters.

Day #2 of the City of Terrytown mural project! 🎨🙌

We’re about 80% finished, and these students continue to impress us with their hard work, dedication, and willingness to step outside of their comfort zones!

We couldn’t be more proud of these kids and everything they’re accomplishing. This mural is turning out AMAZING! 👏🔥
