Here is a way to help kids in our community! Sign up through the link in the post below to provide a pair of shoes and school supplies for a child before the new school year!

Update: We are in much need of sponsors! We have 152 kids signed up and only 69 sponsored at the moment. Please sign up to help meet these needs! We are closing signups 25 days early because of not having enough sponsors. Last year 75 pairs of shoes were purchased, this year the need is much greater!!! Feel free to share. If you want to send messages out to family to help we can send you the link for signup privately. Send pm!!!

💙 School Shoe Sponsorship Update 💙

Thank you so much to everyone who has already stepped up to sponsor a child with a new pair of school shoes — your generosity is making a real difference!

We have already had over 60 families sign up, and many of those families have three or more children, which means the need is still very great. We are thankful, but we are also in need of many more sponsors to help us meet this growing need.

☀️ Our next round of foster parenting classes will begin Sunday, May 31st. The location is Fairview Church of God in Flat Rock, AL.

🏝️Are you interested in fostering but not sure where to start? No need to pre register. Our first class is a relaxed, informational meeting designed to help you learn more about the foster care process, ask questions, and hear what fostering is really like.

🐠Attending does not commit you to becoming a foster parent — it’s simply an opportunity to explore whether fostering may be a good fit for your family. We’d love to have you join us!

We would like to thank Baptist Church for their generous donation to help provide meals for our monthly meetings. Your support means so much to the families we serve and helps create a welcoming space where foster and adoptive families can gather, learn, and encourage one another.

Each month, our meetings provide required training opportunities for foster parents to help maintain their licenses, with speakers and professionals such as car seat safety technicians, fire safety experts, mental health counselors, and more. Beyond the training, these meetings give foster families the chance to connect with others who truly understand the unique joys and challenges of foster care.

Just as importantly, our foster and adoptive children get the opportunity to build friendships and spend time with kids who share similar experiences.

Thank you again, Macklin Baptist Church, for partnering with us and investing in foster families in our community. Your kindness and generosity make a real difference.

A big thank you to First Baptist Church of Scottsboro for hosting a Foster Parents Night Out!

They welcomed our children, kept them entertained and provided a meal for them while the foster parents of Jackson County were able to enjoy a much needed kid-free evening. Opportunities like this mean more than words can express to families walking the foster care journey.

Thank you, First Baptist Church of Scottsboro, for supporting foster families. Your generosity, servants hearts, and encouragement make such a difference for many families in our community. We are truly grateful!

Time to apply for scholarships!

It’s one of our most FAVORITE times of the year!

AFAPA scholarship applications are now live! If you are a graduating senior or a current college student under the age of 21, we would like to invite you to submit your application.

Other requirements for consideration:
1. Biological or Adopted child of current foster family
2. Child adopted through Alabama DHR
3. Currently in foster care
4. Child in a kinship home
