The Jackson County Foster & Adoptive Parents Association (FAPA) is hosting its FIRST-EVER Annual Pancake Breakfast, and we all know y'all never turn down a good pancake breakfast!

Why does this matter?

Jackson County FAPA provides ongoing support for foster and adoptive families right here in OUR community by offering:
❤️ Monthly training and fellowship
❤️ Advocacy and support for foster and adoptive families
❤️ Childcare during meetings
❤️ Meals for training sessions
❤️ Foster family recruitment
❤️ A special holiday celebration for foster youth and their families

This fundraiser helps make all of that possible!

📣 Local Business Owners
Sponsor the event by advertising on the breakfast placemats! Every guest—and every to-go order—will receive one, giving your business great local exposure while supporting an incredible cause.

Advertising Options (11x17 Placemat):
• Business Card Ad — $100 (Includes 2 breakfast tickets)
• 1/8 Page Ad — $200 (Includes 4 tickets)
• 1/4 Page Ad — $400 (Includes 10 tickets)

🥞 Feed Your Team
Purchase breakfast plates for your employees! Large orders will be delivered directly to your business that Saturday.

📍 Help Spread the Word
Display a flyer at your business, church, office, or community bulletin board. FAPA has flyers ready to deliver throughout Jackson County.

🎁 Donate Supplies
They're currently collecting:
• Pancake mix
• Individual syrup cups
• Individual butter packets
• Plastic cutlery packs

Every sponsorship, donation, shared post, flyer displayed, and breakfast purchased helps strengthen the support system for local foster children and the families who open their hearts and homes to them.

Any donations for school supplies can be dropped off at DHR. If you don't want to shop, we can also accept monetary donations of cash or check. The school supplies will go to foster children in Jackson County.

❤️June is National Reunification Month. ❤️

This month, we recognize the families who have worked hard to reunify and the children who have returned home. Reunification can be a long and challenging journey, requiring courage, growth, perseverance, and support from many people along the way.

As foster and adoptive families, we recognize that when children can safely return home, it is often a beautiful and important outcome. To all the families whose reunification stories are still being written—and to those who have already made it home—we celebrate you this month.

Here is a way to help kids in our community! Sign up through the link in the post below to provide a pair of shoes and school supplies for a child before the new school year!

Update: We are in much need of sponsors! We have 152 kids signed up and only 69 sponsored at the moment. Please sign up to help meet these needs! We are closing signups 25 days early because of not having enough sponsors. Last year 75 pairs of shoes were purchased, this year the need is much greater!!! Feel free to share. If you want to send messages out to family to help we can send you the link for signup privately. Send pm!!!

💙 School Shoe Sponsorship Update 💙

Thank you so much to everyone who has already stepped up to sponsor a child with a new pair of school shoes — your generosity is making a real difference!

We have already had over 60 families sign up, and many of those families have three or more children, which means the need is still very great. We are thankful, but we are also in need of many more sponsors to help us meet this growing need.

☀️ Our next round of foster parenting classes will begin Sunday, May 31st. The location is Fairview Church of God in Flat Rock, AL.

🏝️Are you interested in fostering but not sure where to start? No need to pre register. Our first class is a relaxed, informational meeting designed to help you learn more about the foster care process, ask questions, and hear what fostering is really like.

🐠Attending does not commit you to becoming a foster parent — it’s simply an opportunity to explore whether fostering may be a good fit for your family. We’d love to have you join us!
