Scottsboro Street Department Street Department is responsible for maintenance of city streets and rights of way, water drainage and all bridges and culverts in Scottsboro City limits.

The Scottsboro Street Department is divided into four divisions. The department is responsible for the maintenance of city streets & rights of way, surface water drainage and all bridges and culverts within Scottsboro city limits. There are 225 miles of streets within the city limits. The Street Department maintains 160 miles of streets while the other 65 miles are maintained by the State of Alabama.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

A portion of Old Larkinsville Road is now closed to through traffic following significant flooding caused by excessive rainfall on June 7–8.

Flooding at the Roseberry Creek Bridge damaged the bridge structure and created hazardous roadway conditions, requiring the immediate closure of the affected section of roadway.

📍 Closure Location:
Old Larkinsville Road between 1845 Old Larkinsville Road (just west of County Road 737) and 2025 Old Larkinsville Road at Halls Deer Processing.

Motorists traveling through the area will need to use alternate routes until the roadway can be safely reopened.

City crews are assessing the damage and evaluating repair options. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore safe travel conditions.

Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

Norfolk Southern will have the railroad crossing closed at Ridgedale Road for maintenance from Monday, March 9th - Thursday, March 12th.

The City of Scottsboro Street Department is currently conducting seasonal leaf pickup across all residential areas. Our crews are working continuously to ensure every neighborhood is serviced as quickly as possible.

Please remember that only loose leaves will be collected. Leaves placed in any type of bag cannot and will not be picked up.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to complete leaf collection throughout the community.
