You CAN change the world - one child at a time.

There are children in need of services within our own community.

They've been neglected and abused. They're scared and often don't understand what's going on. They need you to be their voice in a system even adults don't fully understand.

CASA of Scott County is hiring a full-time position that fills the gaps and is the voice that otherwise might never be heard.

Somewhere between the helicopter parent years of the first born child and the feral baby of the family raising herself or himself because mom and dad are just too exhausted and traumatized, is the middle child - breaking up fights, negotiating peace deals between siblings, and ensuring everyone gets an equal share of whatever pie is for desert.

If you're that child - today's your day!

Does it end? Or does it just continue into the adult years?

At CASA of Scott County, we sometimes have a case that includes several different siblings. If they're lucky, they all get placed in a home together, but sometimes that's just not possible.

And there aren't enough foster families in our community. So sometimes we drive to New Albany to visit little sister, Indianapolis to visit the middle brother, and Fort Wayne to visit the oldest brother.

That's one of the many reasons that funding is so important - gas isn't cheap. And every child deserves to have a face-to-face visit at least once a month to ensure the grownups all know what he or she wants. Funding also pays for the laptops, a printer, internet, paper, and electricity used to track cases and upload reports to The State. Every non-profit knows how nickels and dimes add up very quickly.

Thank you for supporting CASA of Scott County. You're one of the many reasons Scott County has recovered from having over 300 children in need of services (with over half on a waiting list) to just over 50 and all being seen, heard, comforted, and advocated for.

We CAN change the world - one child at a time.

Tired of doing a job that's just about making money for someone else while you get left feeling like you've had no impact on the world?

When you sit face to face with a child - who just wants someone to listen and let the decision makers know what she or he wants for their own life - it lights up a place inside of you others seldom get to experience.

Make the shift. Take the step.

You CAN change the world - one child at a time.
