For those of us lucky enough to say that it is a true joy! Scottsburg is not just a city, but a community of friends and neighbors all working together to build a brighter tomorrow. Scottsburg is a city of approximately 6,600 people, located conveniently between Louisville, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis, with easy access to all three via Interstate or Highway. Scottsburg is an industrial, commercia

l, and residential community, both with a long history, and a bright future. Scottsburg has put a large emphasis on “quality of life” and it shows in our beautiful parks and lively downtown square. Scottsburg is also a great place to bring or start a business with a supportive Economic Development Corporation, an active Chamber of Commerce, and is also home to Indiana’s 4th largest business incubator, The Mid-America Science Park. Scottsburg’s schools, Scott County School District 2, are currently blazing a trail into the new technological age, preparing local students for the new information-driven workforce! If you’re looking at moving here: we would love to have you join us, and become a part of our great community! If you already live here: Thank you for all you do to make Scottsburg great!

🚒 A look back at the opening of Station 52!

Earlier this week, we celebrated the opening of the new Scottsburg Fire Department Station 52 with a special fire hose ceremony.

As Scottsburg continues to grow, Station 52 marks an important investment in the safety of our community. Located on the other side of the railroad, the new station will help strengthen emergency response and allow our firefighters to better serve residents throughout Scottsburg.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration and to all those who played a part in making Station 52 a reality!

Help us celebrate the Scottsburg Fire & Rescue Department on this exciting milestone in the comments below!

🚒 Station 52 is officially open!

Earlier this week, we celebrated the opening of the new Scottsburg Fire Department Station 52 with a special fire hose ceremony, a fire service twist on the traditional ribbon cutting!

As Scottsburg continues to grow, particularly on the other side of the railroad, the location of Station 52 is an important step in strengthening emergency response throughout our community. Having a station on this side of the tracks helps ensure our firefighters can respond quickly, even when a train may be passing through.

This new station represents an important investment in the future of Scottsburg and the safety of our residents.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Station 52 a reality, and congratulations to Chief James and the entire Scottsburg Fire & Rescue Department on this exciting milestone!

Exciting news for the City of Scottsburg!

The City has been awarded a $750,000 OCRA Community Development Block Grant through the Stormwater Improvement Program!

This funding will be used to replace stormwater infrastructure in the Larry Lane, Lovers Lane, and Bird Run areas, helping reduce drainage and flooding issues for residents.

We would like to thank the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for this investment in our community, as well as Kleinpeter Consulting Group, LLC for serving as the grant administrator and Heritage Engineering for their work on the project.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. We look forward to seeing these much needed improvements take shape!

(8/18/2026 9:45am) As mitigation continues, we did make changes last night and several have been able to restore their service, although we are still troubleshooting service therefore we could still have some intermittent outages during this process.

(8/17/2026 9:00am) We are continuing to work on the network. The attack continues with mitigation in progress so you may continue to have services can be intermittent, slow at times and some services may still not be available. We can't say it enough, but thank you again for your patience and understanding during this time. If you are not able to get online or if you have specific services that aren't working (VPN, encrypted or tunnels) please provide the detailed information in your message or the best contact for us.

(8/16/2026 3:57pm) We are still under attack with mitigation in progress so the services can be intermittent, slow at times and some services may still not be available. We can't say it enough, but thank you again for your patience and understanding during this time.

INTERNET SERVICE OUTAGE UPDATE

Some customers are currently experiencing slow or unavailable internet service due to a large-scale DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack targeting the network.

A DDoS attack sends an extremely high volume of unwanted internet traffic across a network, creating congestion that can prevent normal customer traffic from getting through.

Our network and security teams are actively working to filter the malicious traffic, protect legitimate customer connections, and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Current Status: Technicians are actively working to mitigate the attack.

Customer Impact: Some customers may experience slow or unavailable internet service.

Restoration: Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Customers do not need to repeatedly restart their modem or router. This is a network-side issue and is not caused by your individual equipment or account.

We understand how disruptive an internet outage can be and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience while our team works to restore service.
