Yes, I’m still collecting signatures to qualify for the ballot for another term on the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board!

A quick reminder: School board candidates are NOT on the primary ballot. Our election is on the General Election ballot on November 3.

We’re down to the final two weeks of collecting petition signatures, and I would appreciate your help. If you live within the Scottsdale Unified School District boundaries and would like to sign my petition, please comment below or send me a DM. If you already have a petition and haven’t returned it yet, now is the time!

Thank you for your continued support as we work to keep students first, practice fiscal responsibility, and ensure strong neighborhood schools for our community.

At our last board meeting, we had the privilege of honoring Scottsdale resident Mae Applegate Defiel with an honorary diploma from Saguaro High School as she celebrated her 100th birthday🎓

Mae was never able to complete high school because family responsibilities required her to put the needs of others before her own educational goals.

To see Mae receive her diploma surrounded by family, friends, and community members was a heartwarming moment and one I’m so thankful I got to be a part of ❤️

We wrapped up our trip to Washington, D.C., with a special surprise- meeting up with SUSD Governing Board candidate Jeanne Beasley for SUSD and her family, who happened to be visiting our nation’s capital at the same time!⁣

I am proud to support Jeanne Beasley for the SUSD Governing Board because she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to our schools, students, and community. ⁣

As the mother of three sons who attended SUSD schools, Jeanne understands our district firsthand. ⁣

For the past four years, she has served on district & city committees and consistently shown up at school board meetings to listen, learn, ask questions, and stay engaged in the issues impacting all of us.⁣

Our schools need leaders who show up, do the work, and put students first. Jeanne has already proven she is that kind of leader.⁣

Join me in supporting Jeanne Beasley on November 3 for the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board!⁣

This Memorial Day, may we intentionally teach our children the true meaning behind this day by honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country so we could live in freedom.

One meaningful way we can preserve their legacy is by sharing their stories with the next generation. That’s why I bought my sons a set of Hero Cards from They create Hero Cards and online biographies honoring U.S. military service members who lost their lives while serving our country, helping families and schools remember the courage and sacrifice behind our freedoms.

As parents, we have the privilege and responsibility of teaching gratitude, honor, and remembrance. Memorial Day is not just about history. It is about real people. Real sacrifice. Real heroes.

Today, we remember them, honor them, and teach our children to never forget 🇺🇸

Last night, I had the incredible honor of serving in two roles at once: proud mom and school board member.

As a board member, participating in our high school graduation ceremonies has been one of my favorite opportunities over the past 4 years. But nothing could have prepared me for the moment I got to hand a diploma to my own son 🎓

Standing on that stage and watching him walk toward me as a graduate was emotional in every possible way. It was a reminder of perseverance, growth, and the power of love, support, and opportunity in a child’s life.

This moment was deeply personal, and one I will never forget.

Congratulations to every SUSD graduate (and parent) in the Class of 2026! You did it 🎓🎉
