Ulysses Development Group, Gov. Hobbs, and partners celebrate the groundbreaking of Salt River Flats 2.

PHOENIX -- Ulysses Development Group (UDG) continues to expand its impact in Arizona with the groundbreaking of Salt River Flats 2, a new affordable housing community located at 4027 S. 13th Street in Phoenix. The project, celebrated today with Governor Katie Hobbs and other partners, will add 168 homes for families and individuals earning 60% of the area median income.

Ulysses Development Group announces financial closing of Salt River Flats 2 in Phoenix - 168 affordable units to be added for families in the Phoenix area

The Arizona IDA happily announces the financial closing of Salt River Flats 2 in Phoenix, developed by Ulysses Development Group on February 18. Located near their original Salt River Flats community, SRF2 will support families earning up to 60% of the median income with 168 units, with 1 to 4 bedrooms. Amenities include BBQ areas, a pool, a playground, and a community room. Salt River Flats 2 features a solar energy system expected to reduce energy use by over 70%. This project advances Phoenix's goal of a more inclusive, sustainable, and connected community.

Many congratulations to our very own Carson Folk on completing the inaugural Phoenix Marathon held on December 13, 2025. Carson finished the 26.2-mile run in just under three hours and thirty minutes, surpassing his goal by 36 seconds.

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – The Arizona IDA was honored to take part in the Grand Opening of Sierra on 66 last week, a recently constructed affordable housing development spearheaded by Roers Companies within the City of Flagstaff.

Situated along Historic Route 66, Sierra on 66 provides 221 new apartment units within Coconino County, thereby broadening housing opportunities for individuals and families with low to moderate incomes in a high-demand market. The development comprises one, two, and three-bedroom residences strategically designed to suit households of different sizes, fostering long-term stability.

Apartment residences are equipped with in-unit washers and dryers, stainless steel appliances, air conditioning, and included utilities. Shared amenities, including a clubroom, fitness center, outdoor gathering areas, tot lot, and dog run, foster a community-oriented environment rather than standalone housing.

Arizona IDA is proud to have served as the issuer for Sierra On 66, in coordination with Roars Companies, the Arizona Department of Housing, and the City of Flagstaff. Together, our partners continue to support the development of quality affordable housing across Northern Arizona.

The Arizona IDA was proud to attend the 2025 National Association of Health and Educational Facilities Finance Authorities (NAHEFFA) Conference in Minneapolis this week.

Our Business Development Officer, Carson Folk, joined peers from across the country to discuss trends in nonprofit healthcare and education financing, share best practices, and explore how conduit issuers can continue helping nonprofits achieve their missions amid a changing market.

Engagement with NAHEFFA enables the Arizona IDA to stay connected to national best practices and innovative approaches to tax-exempt financing, thereby strengthening Arizona’s healthcare and education sectors.

The Arizona IDA remains committed to helping nonprofit borrowers access affordable capital, enabling vital community facilities to continue growing and serving Arizonans throughout the state.

Arizona IDA - Dominium Acquires Land for 304-Unit Affordable Housing Development in Surprise, Arizona

SURPRISE — Dominium has closed on land in Surprise, a Phoenix suburb about 22 miles northwest of downtown. The developer is planning to build Allasso Ranch on the site. The project will comprise 304 affordable homes supported by low-income housing tax credits.

CASA GRANDE – Dominium is on track to expand its affordable build-to-rent inventory with another project in the Valley of the Sun. The company will built Townhomes on Earley, a BTR property set to comprise 278 homes in Casa Grande, Az.
