Creativity, Color and Lots of Smiles!

Last weekend, Gesher members discovered the art of decoupage during a fun and colorful hands-on workshop!

Using tissue paper, decorative papers and a little creativity, participants transformed simple materials into beautiful works of art. From bold, vibrant colors to unique patterns and designs, every creation was a reflection of the artist's imagination and personal style.

We had a fantastic turnout, with plenty of creativity, laughter and smiles all around! Take a look at some of the beautiful artwork and happy faces from our Discover Decoupage workshop!

The Great Gesher Hunt 'n Bowl is almost here! Have you registered your team yet?

Gather your family, friends or coworkers for an adventure with a purpose! Explore the Valley, complete fun scavenger hunt challenges, earn points and compete for prizes, all while supporting Gesher Disability Resources.

Here's how to join the fun:

SCAVENGER HUNT | October 23 – November 7
$180 per team. Teams can include up to 4 people, or up to 6 if at least 2 members are under age 16. Complete challenges at your own pace over two weeks. You don't have to visit every location or complete every challenge to participate!

BOWLING & AWARDS CELEBRATION | November 8, 3–5 PM
Join us at Let It Roll Bowl for an afternoon of bowling, food, fun, prizes and the announcement of our scavenger hunt winners!

Tickets are available to everyone, even if you're not participating in the hunt!
$18: Party admission (no bowling)
$36: Party admission plus bowling

Food and soft drinks are included with both ticket options.

Through Arizona's Charitable Tax Credit Program, eligible taxpayers can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for qualifying donations to Gesher. For the 2026 tax year, individuals can claim up to $506, and married couples filing jointly can claim up to $1,009.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! This month, we celebrate the talents, achievements and contributions of people with disabilities in the workplace.

At Gesher, we're incredibly proud of our members who are employed throughout the Valley, contributing their skills, building independence and making a difference in their communities. We're also proud of our partnership with Gompers, which helps create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities beyond our own programs.

NDEAM reminds us that inclusive workplaces benefit everyone. By raising awareness, challenging misconceptions and recognizing the abilities of people with disabilities, we help build a community where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, succeed and thrive.

This weekend, we look forward to gathering for Simchat Shabbat, Gesher's monthly "no shush" Shabbat service, developed with the disability community in mind. At Simchat Shabbat, everyone is encouraged to participate, celebrate and experience the joy of Shabbat in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

The Great Gesher Hunt ’N Bowl is almost here, and we’re ready to start the adventure!

Beginning October 23, teams will have two weeks to explore the Valley, visit participating stops, complete fun challenges, take photos and earn points along the way. Go at your own pace and complete as many stops as you can before the Hunt ends on November 7.

And there are some great prizes waiting for our top teams, including four tickets to the WM Phoenix Open, an autographed Cardinals football and more! We’ll announce the winners and celebrate together at our Bowling & Awards Celebration on November 8.

Best of all, every team that joins the Hunt is helping support Gesher and the programs and services we provide for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Gesher is excited to be part of SARRC’s YES Day on Sunday, October 25 at Tempe Beach Park! We’ll be there as a community partner, hosting a resource booth and joining Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) and the community for a morning of connection and support. If you’re attending, be sure to stop by the Gesher table and say hello!

October is here, and we have a great month ahead! We’ll kick things off with Simchat Shabbat on Saturday, October 10, followed by a full calendar of opportunities to learn, create, connect and spend time with friends.
