Celebrating SUSD’s Outstanding Spring Athletes!
Scottsdale Charro Casey Solem recently recognized Scottsdale Unified School District’s Outstanding Spring Athletes — honoring two exceptional student-athletes for their leadership, dedication, and impact.
Zander Bratspis, Saguaro High School
A four-year varsity baseball starter and two-time all-region player, Zander leads by example on and off the field. He’s volunteered with the Miracle League of Arizona since middle school and will continue his baseball career at Kansas State, planning to study Psychology or Criminology.
Emily “Emmy” Raines, Desert Mountain High School
A standout in both softball and track, Emmy is a 4-year varsity athlete, All-Conference performer, and part of three state championship softball teams. She also ranks among the state’s top javelin throwers and holds a 4.942 weighted GPA. Emmy will attend Yale University this fall to continue her academic and athletic journey.
