Today, our students at the Early Childhood Education Center had a special morning celebrating Grandparents Day alongside their grandparents and loved ones! From creating arts and crafts, to playing O’odham and Piipaash bingo together, unforgettable memories were created. ❤️

Beautiful student artwork was displayed along classroom walkways for visiting grandparents and family members to view. 🎨 In the Gathering Place, families were able to enjoy a delicious traditional meal served by our amazing ECEC staff!🍴

We were grateful to have Community Stakeholders join us as well, sharing valuable resources and information to ECEC families.

Sapé, grandparents and loved ones for being part of this special day and supporting our little learners as they grow! 🌱

📅 Holiday Closure Notice 📅

All Salt River Schools sites and programs—including the ECEC, SRES, and ALA—will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

School will resume on Tuesday, September 8.

The Early Childhood Education Center is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Grandparents Day Celebration, honoring the grandparents, elders, and extended family members who play an important role in the lives of our children and families. 🧡

ROOTS, STORIES & LOVE
Walking Together Through Generations
Date: Friday, September 4, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Early Childhood Education Center

This year's celebration will provide an opportunity for children, families, staff, grandparents, and elders to come together in recognition of the relationships, traditions, stories, and experiences that connect generations.

As part of the celebration, ECEC will host a Grandparents Day Art Walk, featuring children's artwork inspired by the themes of Roots, Stories, and Love. 🎨🖌The Art Walk will provide children an opportunity to express their understanding of family, relationships, culture, and the special people who help shape their lives.

O'ODHAM BINGO 🔡🖊️🔴
A special O'odham Bingo activity will also be included as part of the celebration. We are excited to incorporate this cultural activity into our event while creating an enjoyable opportunity for grandparents and families to participate together.

TRADITIONAL LUNCH 🫘🫔🍽
Following the celebration, we would be honored to have our ECEC families, grandparents, and elders join us for a Traditional Lunch. This gathering will provide an opportunity to share a meal, build relationships, and continue strengthening the partnerships that support the children and families we serve.
