🎉On Monday we posted a hightlight reel of our Mountain Lions at the SUSD sports festival playing baseball⚾ against other SUSD schools. This festival allowed coaches to see everyone try hard & play their best. Now it´s time to see highlights of our Mountain Lions playing volleyball! 🏐 The first official games for both Volleyball and Baseball are on Monday, September 10th! MARK YOUR CALENDARS! ! Go DCMS!

🎉DCMS students were at a festival playing volleyball🏐 and baseball⚾ against other SUSD schools this past Saturday. This was a great chance for students to show to their coaches how amazing they are at sports and how much they want to play this season. Coaches were thrilled to see how hard players were playing! 🎶🕒 Today we (yearbook students) continue our yearlong take over of social media. We went to check out Spanish I. If you take Spanish I as an 8th grader, you can earn high school credit. There are 4 electives at DCMS that 8th graders can earn high school credit in! Algebra, Geo-Trig, Mandarin I and Spanish I. In Spanish I today, students used music to help them remember that you can´t just say it’s 1 o´clock or it´s 2 o´clock like in English. Students learned you have to say "Es la una" for 1 o´clock OR... if it´s 2-12 o´clock you need to say.... ¡SON LAS DOS, SON LAS TRES....!! (picture that to the hook from the song Uh-Oh) 🎶🕒 So fun!

Exciting News! Yearbook students are taking over the school social account starting today! 🎉 We took photos of Ms. Felix’s class making island maps that show who they are. They painted with watercolors and added details with colored pencils. Check out our four pics — the art looks awesome! 🏝️🎨

🤖 Curious how robots come to life? Our Robotics elective — a very popular course taught by Mr. Bloom — dives into questions like “How do we build an efficient robot with LEGO Education and Spike Prime?” and “What is programming?” Their first assignment is to research current and emerging examples of robotics and technology. To get students excited for the rigor of the course ahead, students chose specific examples of robots that they are most interested in and began presenting their selections to classmates today. Selections include the autonomous Door Dash delivery bot, surgical medical bots, Waymo and more . 👩‍🏫✨
