Today, on National Food Bank Day, we’re highlighting Jonathan Montoya, Food Bank Operations Senior for the city of Scottsdale.

Jonathan has been serving our community for 26 years and says one of the best parts of his job is connecting with residents and volunteers.

His days start early, heading out with volunteers and staff to collect roughly 1,500 to 2,500 pounds of produce for Food Bank clients almost daily.

For Jonathan, the work is about more than providing food. He enjoys helping people through times of crisis and believes food shouldn’t be another expense people have to worry about when they’re already balancing other needs.

He says many people don’t realize there are Scottsdale residents who need assistance. Being able to provide support to anyone who needs it is what makes the work meaningful.

Thank you, Jonathan, for 26 years of service and for the difference you make in our community. 💙

💧 Growing Scottsdale means planning for our future water needs.

The city recently completed an upgrade at a water booster pump station in north Scottsdale, increasing its capacity from 19.4 million to 23.3 million gallons per day.

That added capacity helps meet the community’s water needs as Scottsdale continues to grow.

And we’re not stopping there. Work will soon begin to fully replace the aging pump station and its electrical systems, helping ensure reliable water infrastructure for years to come.
