In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. This coming week May 10-16, 2026 is Police Week. As we recognize our Officers this week please be mindful of the Officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty. As of today 38 Officers have lost their lives in the line of duty nationwide for 2026.

We invite you to Scottsville Police Department on May 14h at 10am as the Fraternal Order of Police honors those who have fallen with a brief moment of remembrance.
