COLTS (County of Lackawanna Transit System) COLTS was formed in 1972 to provide safe, affordable, and convenient public transportation in Lackawanna County.

COLTS Mission:
COLTS’ mission is to enhance mobility and economic well-being for the citizens of Lackawanna County through management of public transportation services that are affordable, efficient, equitable, reliable, safe, and environmentally friendly. We will continue to be fiscally responsible and to uphold our commitment to diversity. We will continue to build sustainable partnerships with the community. We seek to achieve the highest degrees of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

🚍 ROUTES 31 & 32 – WALMART SERVICE NOTICE 🚍

Passengers traveling on COLTS Routes 31 and 32 may notice construction taking place near Walmart’s main entrance.

The construction will NOT change the current COLTS bus stop or passenger pickup and drop-off location.

🚌 Routes 31 & 32 will continue to use the existing Walmart stop.
♿ ADA accessibility will remain available and will not be affected by the construction.
📍 Passengers should continue to board and exit the bus at the current designated location shown in the photo.

While the area around the entrance may look a little different during construction, where you catch your COLTS bus remains the same.

SHARE THE ROAD. RIDE RESPONSIBLY.
E-bikes and electric scooters are becoming an increasingly common way to get around our community. At the same time, COLTS buses travel Lackawanna County every day carrying passengers to work, school, medical appointments, shopping, and other essential destinations.

More ways to move means more reasons to look out for one another.

COLTS is launching a new community safety campaign to encourage e-bike and e-scooter riders, motorists, pedestrians, and transit passengers to help keep our streets safe.

If you ride an e-bike or electric scooter:
• Wear a helmet and use appropriate safety equipment.
• Stay alert. Avoid distractions and watch for buses, vehicles, pedestrians, and changing traffic conditions.
• Follow traffic signals, signs, and applicable traffic laws.
• Give buses room. Never assume a bus operator can see you, particularly alongside or immediately in front of or behind a bus.
• Be especially cautious near bus stops. Passengers may be boarding, exiting, or crossing nearby.
• Ride predictably. Sudden turns, weaving through traffic, or unexpectedly entering a roadway can put everyone at risk.
• Make yourself visible, especially in the early morning, evening, and poor weather.

For COLTS, safety has always been about more than the people aboard our buses. It is about everyone who shares the streets with us. Whether you're behind the wheel, riding the bus, walking, biking, or using an electric scooter, a few extra seconds of caution can make a difference.

Share the road. Ride responsibly. Look out for one another.

Thank you, Senator Marty Flynn, for joining us as we celebrated the Grand Opening of COLTS’ new Headquarters and Maintenance Facility!

This milestone would not have been possible without the tremendous support and partnership of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, PennDOT, our federal, state and local officials, Lackawanna County, and the many partners who helped bring this project from planning to reality.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate this historic day and to all those who have supported COLTS throughout this years-long project.

Our new facility represents an investment not only in public transportation, but in our employees, our passengers, and the future of the communities we are proud to serve throughout Lackawanna County.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders, transit workers, public servants, and everyday Americans who stepped forward to help others in a time of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the strength, sacrifice, and unity shown in the days that followed.

COLTS joins our community and our nation in honoring all those whose lives were forever changed by September 11.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

The cosmic fun continues TONIGHT, September 11, at PNC Field! ✨ If you’re going, make getting there part of the fun and ride the COLTS PNC Field Crowd Mover for just $1.75 each way! 🚌

📍 Departures from the Lackawanna Transit Center:
3:30 PM | 4:30 PM | 5:30 PM | 6:30 PM | 7:00 PM

🌙 After the game:
Return trips from PNC Field begin at 9:00 PM, with the last trip at 11:00 PM.
