With the recent surge of Covid-19 cases in the area, we have decided to cancel our Annual Chili & Brat Feed event in the interest of public safety. We will still hold the raffle November 7th at 8:00 p.m. Watch our page for the video of the drawing. Historically, we sell around 70% of the raffle tickets during the chili feed so this year will be your best chance to win! Contact any member of the fire department if you want some tickets. They are also for sale at the Main Bar, the Equity grocery store and Gas Station.

If you don't have any members phone numbers, you can contact James at 206-0004 or Lucas at 260-0885 and they will get you some tickets! Thank you!

Hay bale fires, a pain in the @$$ for all involved. With this years weather proving to be less than perfect for completing the hay harvest, many might be bailing hay that is not properly cured or a bit on the damp side. It's a risk that farmers and ranchers have to take to ensure that their entire hay crop does not go to waste.

This might be a good year to take a little extra caution in stacking and storing your hay once you haul it into the yards.

1. If you have the room, make several smaller stacks, if a fire would happen to occur this will give you and your local fire department a chance to potentially defend the fire from getting to other stacks and causing a greater loss.
2. Attempt to stack hay away from building and equipment.
3. Talk with your insurance agent about coverage for your hay.
4. Monitor your stacks. You can probe them to see if they are getting hot inside.

Here is some good info put together by NDSU on hay fires and measures to prevent them.
