I joined Rep. Jim Haddock at Spadi Park in Jenkins Township to check out the site where some exciting improvements will soon be underway.

Rep. Haddock and I were proud to help secure $100,000 in LSA funding for improvements at Spadi Park. The project will include a new pavilion and an ADA-accessible restroom facility, helping make Spadi Park more accessible and enjoyable for families and residents. I am looking forward to seeing these improvements take shape and the new pavilion put to good use by the Jenkins Township community.

It was great to visit Dupont with Rep. Jim Haddock and see the impact of investments we were able to support for the Borough.

Funding helped provide two new police interceptors for the Dupont Borough Police Department and supported improvements at VFW Post 4909.

I am glad we could help Dupont make these upgrades and support both public safety and a place that means so much to local veterans and their families. Thank you to Mayor Elaine Lello, Borough Council, Chief Sean Doran and everyone who welcomed us.

Lackawanna County is receiving $131,250 through Pennsylvania’s Strategic Management Planning Program as part of nearly $1.5 million in grants awarded to 16 local governments across the Commonwealth.

The funding will allow Lackawanna County to complete a comprehensive Salary Study and Compensation Review to elevate compensation structures, classification systems, market competitiveness, internal equity, wage compression, and long-term compensation administration practices throughout the County’s government.

These investments help local governments plan responsibly for the future and make sure they have the tools and resources needed to operate effectively.

Members of my staff had the opportunity to visit ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages in Pittston and get a firsthand look at their local distribution operation.

My Chief of Staff, Jennifer, and Communications Director, Victoria, toured the facility, met with members of the ABARTA team and learned more about the company’s impact here in our area and across Pennsylvania.

The Pittston facility employs approximately 130 people and distributes around 3 million cases annually. Across Pennsylvania, the Coca-Cola system supports thousands of jobs and invests in local suppliers, workforce development and community programs throughout the Commonwealth.

Thank you to the ABARTA Coca-Cola team for welcoming my office and sharing more about the work happening right here in Pittston.

I am proud to announce $700,000 in PAsmart grants coming to Lackawanna and Luzerne counties to expand career and technical education and prepare more students for good-paying, in-demand careers.

- Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit 19: $280,000

- Luzerne County Community College: $280,000

- Scranton School District: $140,000

This funding will help connect students with training and career pathways in fields including manufacturing, welding, machining, industrial maintenance, automation and logistics.

We continue to hear from employers who need skilled workers, and investments like these give our students the chance to develop those skills right here at home while preparing for careers that are waiting for them after graduation.

I am glad to see this funding coming to Lackawanna and Luzerne counties and look forward to seeing these programs continue to grow.

Yesterday, my Policy Director Justin and Communications Director Victoria attended an EITC scholarship check presentation at St. Nicholas–St. Mary’s School in Wilkes-Barre on my behalf.

The Bridge Educational Foundation, with support from Raymond James, UGI Utilities and WM, is providing $133,000 in scholarship funding to help students and families in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties access educational opportunities through Pennsylvania’s EITC and OSTC programs.

Thank you to the Bridge Educational Foundation, Raymond James, UGI Utilities and WM for making this investment in students throughout our area and helping families access the education that is right for their children.
