TENURE & RETIREMENT RECOGNITIONS
NS Board Of Education Along with Administration Recognizes Tenured Teachers and Says Farewell to Those Retiring
The North Shore High School theatre was filled with family, friends and colleagues as the Board of Education, administration, and principals recognized teachers, administrators, and staff for tenure and retirement at the June 11, 2026, meeting.
Congratulations go out to the following tenured teachers and administrators including Lauren DeLuca (HS Math), Hailey Heller (MS Math), Tori Kalberer (MS ENL), Samantha Malis (SC Social Worker), Maram Mabrouk (MS Assistant Principal), Megan McCormack (SC Principal), and James Pappas (Assistant Superintendent for Business).
On behalf of the Board of Education the following employees were recognized and thanked for approximately their 413 years of service to our students and North Shore families. Best of luck in your future retirement including Jean Buckel Betzios (Nurse Coordinator) 23 years), Palmira Carrabs (Food Service) 26 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Ciampi (Secretary to Superintendent) 46 years, Arlene Fern (Special Education Teacher) 26 years), Janet Goldberg (SWES Teacher) 29 years, Barbra Greggo (Classroom Teacher) 9 years, Patricia Gromling (Teacher Aide) 27 years, Michele Hall (Transportation Supervisor) 19 years, Debra Henneberger (Reading Teacher) 22 years, Robert Kemp (Custodian) 20 years, Fred Lange (Custodian) 35 years, Carolyn McIntyre (Reading Teacher) 11 years, Liz Mazzocchi (Teacher Aide) 25 years, Sharon Richmond (Classroom Teacher) 20 years, Charles Wankel (Math Teacher) 23 years, Tina Whyte (Classroom Teacher) 20 years, and Janice Wolin (Classroom Teacher) 32 years. Additionally, the Board of Education presented Superintendent Dr. Christopher Zublionis’ with a gift and thanked him for his 17 years of Service to the North Shore Schools. Dr. Zublionis will be leaving June 30, 2026, to be the Superintendent of the Plainedge Public School District. We wish Dr. Z and all the faculty and staff the best of luck in their future endeavors!
