The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department participates in the Texas Emergency Services Retirement System(TESRS), providing a lifelong pension benefit for our dedicated members.

TESRS traces its roots to Senate Bill 411, authored by Senator Grant Jones and sponsored by Representative Dan Kubiak during the 65th Texas Legislature. Signed into law by Governor Dolph Briscoe in 1977, the legislation created the Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighters' Relief and Retirement Fund, providing Texas volunteer firefighters with one of the first statewide retirement systems in the nation.
To qualify for TESRS, a member must actively serve for 15 years, maintaining the required training and response participation standards. Once vested, members become eligible to receive retirement benefits at age 55.

As required by the system, the City of Seabrook serves as our sponsoring governing entity, allowing our members to participate in this valuable retirement program.

Today, we are proud to have 15 current and former members receiving these well earned benefits in recognition of their years of dedicated service to the citizens of Seabrook and El Lago.

If you are interested in joining our department please visit https://seabrooktx-fire-department.form.transform.civicplus.com/59339 and complete an application. If you have any questions, feel free to visit our fire station on E. Meyer any Monday evening at 7:00 PM and ask to speak with a member about joining. We offer many opportunities to serve, including Firefighting, First Response, Marine Operations, Rehabilitation, Support Services, and Junior Membership programs. We are confident we can find a division that matches your interests and allows you to make a meaningful impact in your community.

were requested to the Texas City Fire Department for a report of a boat on fire. The fire was safely extinguished and all SVFD units have returned to service. We would like to thank the Port of Houston Marine 2 for responding along with us to this incident.
Incidents like these are just another example of the importance of having the proper equipment and properly trained personnel to respond to incidents.

Update to post: All occupants were off the boat prior to our arrival. The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department does not handle cause and origin investigations of fires.

Earlier today, proudly participated in Seabrook, Texas - Your City Government’s Remembering Our Fallen Memorial Day ceremony. It was an honor for our volunteers to stand alongside the community in remembrance of the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned home to their families.
We must remember that Memorial Day is more than a holiday; it is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the courage of those who gave everything in service to our nation. We remain forever grateful for their sacrifice and will continue to honor their legacy.
Please continue to keep the families of our fallen heroes in your thoughts today and every day.

We want to thank the Seabrook, Texas - Your City Government for hosting the ribbon cutting event for the new Fire Training Tower. We also want to thank all of the citizens who came out to join us and celebrate this exciting milestone. A special shoutout goes to Bacliff Volunteer Fire Department and Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department for joining us as well.
We look forward to putting this new training facility to use very soon as we continue to sharpen our skills and better serve our community.
Most importantly, we want to say a special thank you to our citizens for approving the bond in 2023, which allowed us to secure the funding for this project.

May 4 was chosen as the date to celebate International Firefighters' Day as it is also the Feast Day of St Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters.

A Roman officer known for his courage and leadership, St Florian is remembered for his role in organising firefighting brigades and for standing firm in the face of danger.

His legacy lives on in firefighters around the world today.

On this day, we honour not only tradition…but the enduring spirit of service and protection. We celebrate and thank brave firefighters around the world who risk their lives to protect our communities; and our wonderful members receive zero compensation for performing that task. Your courage, commitment, and dedication never go unnoticed. Stay safe, and know that you are deeply appreciated.

For the month of May, recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month.

Behind every call, every response, and every late-night tone-out…there are people. Firefighters, EMS personnel, Law Enforcement and other first responders who see and experience things that most never will. And just like the community we serve, our mental health matters too.
We want to remind everyone:
▪️It’s okay to not be okay
▪️It’s okay to talk about it
▪️And it’s okay to ask for help

As an all-volunteer department made up of your neighbors, friends, and family members, we are committed not only to protecting this community…but also to supporting one another.

Let’s continue to break the stigma, check in on each other, and make mental health a priority; not just this month…but every month.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. You are not alone.💚

Over the weekend, had the honor of participating in the Blessing of the Fleet hosted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge in Kemah.
We are always grateful for the opportunity to assist with such a treasured coastal tradition.
A special thank you to the crew who helped make it happen: Nicole, Kriss, and Indira.

We’re proud to share that one of our Junior Members is currently working toward achieving the rank of Eagle Scout…an incredible accomplishment that reflects dedication, leadership, and service to the community.
His project is that he is wanting to build raised gardening planters for the Special Education Program at Clear Falls High School. As part of his Eagle Scout Project, he is responsible for planning, organizing, and funding the project. We are asking the community for support to help bring his project to life.
If you’re interested in supporting a young leader in our community, please take a moment to review the attached flyer for details on how you can help. Every contribution, big or small, goes a long way in making this project a success.
If you would like to get in contact with him directly, feel free to send us a message through this page, and we will be happy to connect you.
Thank you for continuing to support the next generation of leaders in our community.

Special Note: The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department is not involved in the fundraising process for this project. We are simply using our page to help raise awareness to one of our wonderful members.
