NMCPAC CONUS West Division Sailors and civilian teammates recently took part in a Community Relations event at the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge on Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Detachment Fallbrook, Detachment Norco, supporting the cleanup and preservation of the endangered California Least Tern Nesting Habitat. Through hands-on teamwork and a shared commitment to service, our personnel helped remove debris and restore critical habitat areas to ensure the continued protection of local wildlife and the surrounding coastal environment. Events like these highlight the strength of our military-civilian team, reinforcing the values of stewardship, accountability, and mission-focused excellence. Whether supporting operations across the fleet or serving our local community, NMCPAC CWD remains committed to readiness and resilience - because a stronger community helps build a stronger warfighting force.

Honoring a Legacy of Service – Mr. Merrill Bailey

Today, we proudly recognized Mr. Merrill Bailey, Executive Director, during a retirement luncheon celebrating more than 38 years of distinguished federal service. Mr. Bailey was joined by his friends, family, colleagues, NMCPAC CWD leadership and staff, and several former NMCPAC CWD Commanders, an extraordinary turnout that reflects the lasting impact of his leadership and service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bailey exemplified professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to mission success. His leadership and dedication directly strengthened this command’s ability to deliver reliable ordnance support, ensuring warfighter lethality readiness and maintaining the operational preparedness required to support the Fleet and its warfighting mission.

As Mr. Bailey transitions to a well-earned retirement, his legacy of excellence will continue to shape our workforce and mission for years to come. We thank him for his decades of service to the Navy and the Nation and wish him fair winds and following seas in his next chapter.

Bravo Zulu, Mr. Bailey.

2025 Annual Holiday White Elephant & Cubicle Decorating Contest

Our Headquarters team came together to celebrate the season with our annual Holiday White Elephant gift exchange and a delicious dessert potluck!

We capped off the event by announcing our first-ever Holiday Cubicle Decorating Contest, where each branch showcased impressive creativity and team spirit. Decorations were judged by our Executive Director and Mrs. Pitkin, with the winning team receiving a gift card presented by our Executive Officer.

THANKSGIVING POT-LUCK / TURKEY TROT

XO smoked an incredible turkey, the Commander carved it up, and the staff brought an amazing spread of dishes. We shared great food, great company, and plenty of gratitude. A full belly and high spirits keep our Sailors and Marines mission-ready.

The annual Turkey Trot prepared us just before the Thanksgiving Day feast. Run now, feast later, keep the warfighter winning forever.

A big thank-you to the NMCPAC CWD Fun Team for the outstanding decorations and coordination. We wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

IT1 XIONG GOING AWAY / RE-ENLISTMENT

IT1 Tommy Xiong has been essential to N6 - filling a gapped billet, serving as the Command ISSM, processing thousands of access requests, and keeping our VTCs and IT systems running flawlessly.

Last month, IT1 chose to reenlist after obtaining his dream orders, because the warfighter never gets to ‘get out,’ so some of us choose to stay. Congratulations on reenlisting and keeping the watch.

His hard work and dedication earned him the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the gratitude of everyone at NMCPAC CWD.

We are truly thankful for everything he’s done. Best of luck on your dream assignment in Japan at COMMANDER SEVENTH FLEET.
