As yet another burn ban goes into effect, here is nother reminder that the White County alerts is open enrollment to all citizens to receive. Can opt in for texts, emails, or both. These alerts are for burn bans, severe weather, road closings, anything that is pertinent to the public. Sign up today.

This Saturday we look forward to supporting one of our neighboring departments at their annual fish fry. We hope you have plans to support them as well.

For over 40 years our department has been serving the community, and we have a dedicated group that looks to being their best to emergencies. Over the last few years opportunities to train with neighboring departments, and even from across the county, has grown. While we are responsible for our respective districts, we better ourselves when we learn from each other. White County has some very dedicated departments, both paid and volunteer.

In addition to preparing to keep stuff from flying around, please do not burn tomorrow. While storms will be moving in, for our area, it will be later in the day. We ask that you wait till the wind is calmer before trying to burn anything.

STORM TIMING: this is our current thoughts for Sunday storms!

DARK RED: storms develop in this area, move east with limited coverage (lower severe risk)

RED: storms move east through the mid to late afternoon, severe risk increases

ORANGE storms move in late afternoon and early evening, severe risk continues

The colors do not represent the severe weather risk levels (see comments for that).

If you missed my morning posts, please understand it will be extremely windy tomorrow across the entire state.

You might miss the storms, but you most certainly will not miss the wind on Sunday.

It's been a bit since we have shared anything from Roth ID Tag, so have missed that they now have these products available. Awesome company working to keep your little ones safe in an unfortunate event when you can't speak for them. Word is being spread for first responders to be on the lookout for these products on scenes they run if parents or guardians are not present or able to talk. Be sure to check out their products if you have little ones in your home.
