Due to the chance of severe weather on Monday, the Lighting Ceremony has been moved to November 20 at 5:30pm. Thankfully we were able to find a day when the reindeer can still come! His schedule gets very busy this time of year. 🦌

The Searcy Holiday of Lights event at Smyrna Church has been changed from Sat the 9th to Sat the 23rd due to rain. The real issue isn’t “rain” but rather the fact that the grounds get too wet for parking with the predicted thunderstorm situation. So, come see us at Smyrna from 2-4, drop in on the 23rd, for an Open House with intermittent live music, homemade cookies and cocoa. A history of the church will be given at 2:30 and 3:30.

There will be local history books and prints of Smyrna in various sizes for sale which make nice gifts!

Smyrna is in process of getting new solid wood doors that would have been consistent with the 1882 remodel when the east doors were added. These were approved by the owner (City of Searcy), AR Historic Preservation Program and the White County Historical Society. The church was built from trees onsite in 1856.
